Photo of the Day: Bunny Under the Apple Trees

Almost every night, I see bunnies under the apple trees. The little fluffy creatures eat the fallen apples. They hop around and play. Well, until I walk across the yard, then they just stare at me. If they feel I am getting too close, the little rabbits will quickly run into the nearby wooded area.

Personally, I love to just watch them.

Heron Among the Lily Pads

The Maple River is at low levels due to a lack of rain. The shallow water allows Herons and other water birds to search for food along the banks. I am amazed at how still these birds stand. But when a fish is near, they are quick to grab their meal.

Even though I hope for rain, I enjoy photographing these beautiful creatures. I could watch them for hours.

Happy 50th Anniversary

I purchased this photo as part of an online auction. There’s no information on the back of the photo.

The cake does have a 50 on the topper. I am guessing, the couple is celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

I like the ceramic ducks hanging on the wall. They remind me of some my grandpa had at his house years ago. There are also little ceramic pheasants on the shelf built into the wall.

There is a calendar hanging behind the stove but unfortunately, I cannot read the date.

When you look at the photo, what do you see? I am hoping the couple had many more years of happiness together.

Some of the Fellows

I recently purchased some photos from an auction site.

In this particular find, the back of the photo reads, “Some of the Fellows”.

Unfortunately, I do not have any more information. I am assuming, the group was in the military at the time of the photo. I cannot tell which branch. If someone can distinguish the uniforms, I would like to know the branch.

Signs of Spring: The Return of the Swans

“That is one good thing about this world…

there are always sure to be more springs.”

L.M. Montgomery

I just love watching the beautiful swans. I am always so happy to see their return. For me, the return of the swans is a sign of spring.

Happy Valentine’s Day

I just want to take a moment to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day!

I don’t know the story behind these photos of couples. But I thought they would be perfect for Valentine’s Day!

How are celebrating the holiday?

National Save The Eagles Day

Did you know today, January 10th is National Save the Eagles Day? I could not imagine life without these majestic birds to photograph in the wild. I could photograph Eagles all day long. They are beautiful to watch even when they are munching on their latest carcass.

This beautiful Eagle was in my neighbor’s tree. I am so happy everyone in my neighborhood does not think anything of me standing in the road while I take pictures of animals around their property.

The Bald Eagle and the Golden Eagle are the only two found here in the USA. I applaud all conservation efforts to save the Eagles all around the world.

Pheasant Hunting 1942

The photo does not have any identifying marks of the people. But there is a stamp on the back from the processing service, Brown Photo Service, Minneapolis, Minn. Then, under the stamp is the date, November 19, 1942.

Yes, the photo could be straightened. But I did not want to lose the car in the background. Does anyone know the type of car? I am horrible with old car names.

The photo reminded me of my grandfather who hunted a lot. He always seemed to have a cigarette in his mouth too.

I wish I knew about the couple.
