Photo of the Day: Anniversary Couple

As usual, I am guessing, the couple is celebrating an anniversary. I love the simplicity of the celebration. A card table and a cake, what else do you need? In my mind, they are surrounded by loved ones while celebrating this milestone anniversary. Maybe a 50th or 60th anniversary, but I cannot view the cake clearly.

I do have a couple of facts from the photo.

The photo was taken in July 1954.

The photo processing took place at:

Brown Photo Company

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Happy Veterans’ Day

When working with old photos, I come across numerous ones with military members. I often wonder if the service member arrived home safely? What were their duties? What did they do after their service was over?

Did they get married? Or spend their lives in the service?

I hope, every service person I view, continued on to lead happy, healthy lives. But, I do know the realities of war.

So, on this Veterans’ Day, I thank everyone who served.

Until next time…peace

Photo of the Day: The Lady with the White Boots

I am assuming, the lady in the photo is posing to show off her new white boots. I honestly do not know if this theory is true.

The photo was printed with some basic lab information on the back.

Brown Photo Services

Minneapolis, Minn.

June 12, 1941

I wonder if the photo was taken earlier in the year. The lady appears to be wearing a heavier coat which would be necessary for the Minnesota winters. In my opinion, I believe the photo was actually snapped in the spring of 1941. Then developed at a later date that is printed on the back of the photo.

Photo of the Day: Two Ladies in a Garden

I do have a little information on this photo. The back of the photo is stamped with the following:

Brown Photo Service

Minneapolis, Minn.

June 22, 1942

The two women are posing with flowers. I think the flowers are peonies. I wish I knew their names.

I guess, the women could be sisters. Or perhaps, mother and daughter. What do you think?

Photo of the Day: Chapel at Camp

The only information I have on this photo is the handwriting on the back which reads, “Chapel at Camp.” I wish the person would have added more information.

The photo does give evidence of a warmer climate. The two large cacti located on each side of the doorway support my theory.

Photo of the Day: Family Gathering

Unfortunately, I do not have any information on this photo. In my opinion, I would say the photo contains members of the same family. They all resemble each other to an extent.

I am hoping the photo was part of a happy occasion.

What do you see when you look at the photo?

There is a car in the background. If anyone can guess a year, that would be one piece of information for the time frame of the photo.

Until next time…peace
