1916 Photo

I recently purchased a box of photos from eBay. I admit, I purchase a lot of photos, negatives, and slides from eBay. In the warmer months, I try to find media at garage sales or estate sales. The image of these four people was among the photos. I am lucky with this print.

The photo was labeled:

-1916

-Pauline Schmidt

-Jack Cronin

-Carl Schmidt

-Momie Cronin

The group appears to be dressed up. I am wondering if they were attending a wedding or perhaps Easter Sunday services. Or maybe they were just gathering for a community social event.

I wonder if this image was taken at their wedding? The dress may be white. If not the dress is definitely made from a lighter color material.

Ok, if not a wedding, maybe a Sunday gathering, church, or social event? The lady in the photo is wearing a fancy hat. What do you think?

I am fortunate with this photo. The original print has names and the year scrawled across the back.

Maybe somewhere out there in cyberspace, someone knows this couple’s history. I would love to hear from you if you do. Did they get married? Was this a wedding?

First Congregational Church, St. Johns, MI

One of the photos I recently purchased off eBay was an image of the First Congregational Church in St. Johns, Michigan. I don’t have a date for the picture. If someone can tell me the year of the car in the image, I can have a better guess when the photo was taken.

I love old original buildings that are still in use today.

Unknown Lady

Do you ever look at a photo and wonder about the person in the image? Or am I the only person who thinks this way? I would love to know this lady’s story. I would also like to know what she is holding in her hand.

I do not know much about this image. The photo came in a group of negatives I purchased from eBay. The person who sold me the photos only stated the pictures were from an estate sale in Pennsylvania. But the seller could not give me any more information.

Main Street, St. Johns, Michigan

Can you imagine catching the trolley to go up Main Street? I would love to step back in time to stroll down through the little shops past all the carriages. Of course, I would have to pet every horse on the way.
