Photo of the Day: Maple River at Sunrise

“Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it.” – Confucius

When I was heading to work the other morning, I snapped this photo of the Maple River. On my social media page, I received a lot of opinions on how the photo was creepy. Personally, I thought the scene beautiful. I guess one could say the image is hauntingly beautiful.

What do you think?

Morning Sunrise: Pretty in Pink

I am thankful for long days filled with family, friends, and yes, work. But before the day gets too hectic, I love to watch the sunrise. This morning, the beautiful pink sky was breathtaking. I could hear the turkeys calling in the distance. The morning birds beginning to sing. I cannot think of a better way to start a day.

Until next time…peace

Stolen Moments

I admit, watching the sunrise never gets old for me. In fact, there are some mornings that just take my breath away. I guess, the beauty of nature will never cease to amaze me. The stolen moments before a hectic day leave me with a sense of peace.

I particularly loved this sunrise. The thick heavy fog seemed to lower as the sun began to peek over the Michigan landscape. At every stage of the sunrise, the natural world began to wake. Chirping birds sang, insects buzzed, turkeys strolled across the field, and the deer slowly pranced by me, a perfect start to the day.

Until next time…peace

30 Days of Thanks-Day 5-Sunrises

“Give me odorous at sunrise a garden of beautiful flowers

where I can walk undisturbed.”

Walt Whitman

Today, November 5, 2015, I am thankful for sunrises. What can I say, there’s something almost magical about watching the day being ushered in. The various birds sang to greet the sun as the glorious site was slowly revealed over the horizon. Standing in the crisp morning air with cold damp grass underneath me, photographing the sunrise was an inspiring way to start the day. I could hear the deer splashing down in the creek bed. The wild turkeys calling to one another. Nature is always vocal at sunrise before the interruptions of other humans on to their landscape.

Until next time…peace….
