Going on a Picnic

I honestly do not if the couple in the photograph are going on a picnic. But I love the big picnic basket the gentleman is holding. They are in dress clothes. The couple may be attending a church social or reunion.

I do not have any details of this image.

Vintage Photo: Old Cars

I just love this photo. My curious side wishes I had more information. The image was part of an estate sale which did not have any details on the photos.

I cleaned the photo up to the best of my abilities. Do you think this was a car club? Church? Revival meeting? Reunion? I have so many guesses but no answers.

Let me know what you think!

Tillie — A Lady by the Window

The image was part of an estate sale. Written in faded pencil, the only identifying mark on the photo is the name, “Tillie” which is on the front of the print.

I would like to believe that is her name. She is sitting perfectly in front of the window. The image is definitely a studio print. But I do not have any further information.

The lady sitting by the window is adorned with a captivating piece of jewelry, delicately hanging from her neck. Its color, like a hidden secret, remains elusive. Perhaps it was a necklace, or maybe a mysterious locket.

I also noticed a ring gracing her left hand, but its significance remains yet a mystery like the entire image. Was it a symbol of love, a token of commitment, or something else entirely? Like many of the images I view, I am left with more questions than answers.

What do you see when you view the image?

Springtime

Yet another image without any identifying marks, I am guessing the photo was taken in the spring. I can spot daffodils in the background along the little wire fence. Generally, these types of flowers bloom in the early spring.

Perhaps the photo was taken during a joyful spring celebration, where Easter played an integral role. The lady appears to be finely dressed. Or maybe she is just showing off her beautiful flowers on a sunny day.

Woman with the White Hat

I can’t help but confess, that certain photographs captivate my imagination entirely. And this particular image is undeniably one of them—an enigma waiting to be unraveled before our curious eyes.

What is the story behind this captivating image? Where exactly was this beautiful photo taken? And what could she possibly be doing in this picturesque location? Is she perhaps on a well-deserved vacation or is she involved in building a new home? The possibilities are endless!

What do you think when you look at the image? Do you notice any clues that suggest the season or location where it was taken? Due to the muddy landscape, I am guessing, the photo was taken in the Spring time. What do you think?

Last Day of School

In my opinion, the photo looks like the last day of school or a field trip. What do you think?

I do not have any information on the photo itself. If you look closely at the border, the words, “Moen-Tone” are printed on all four corners.

After a little research, I found an ad for Moen-Tone photo services from a May 1, 1937, Farmer’s Wife issue.

I cannot guarantee the photo was printed through this company. But I do know many other photos from this auction purchase are from Wisconsin.

3 Brothers?

I am guessing these three men are brothers. I do not have any information on this old photo. There is not anything written or stamped on the back.

The image contains a barn in the background. I assume they are in a farming community. I would guess the photo was taken in the mid-to-late 1940s from the style of clothing.

There is also a young boy peeking around the corner on the porch. Perhaps one of the gentlemen is his father. He just wanted to see what was going on.

Tell me what you think when you look at the photo.

Until next time…peace.

Just a Girl and Her Baby Doll 1944

This image was part of an estate sale purchase. Unfortunately, I do not have any information on the name of the little girl or the exact location of the photo.

The photo does have a date and printing service stamp.

March 24, 1944

Brown Photo Service

Minneapolis, Minn.

There’s snow in the background of the photo. I assume the photo was taken in the spring. Perhaps around Easter, the girl and her baby doll appear to be dressed up. Maybe they were heading out to church or dinner.

What do you see when you look at the image?

Father & Sons 1944

This image was part of an estate sale. Unfortunately, I do not have any names or an exact location for this photo.

The image is stamped on the back with Brown Photo Service, Minneapolis, Minn., May 4, 1944.

I think the image is of a father with his two sons. Of course, one of his sons is in the military. The other one appears too young for the service.

The date stamp lets me know the photo was taken during WWII. I assume the military man was either home on leave or just entering his military service.

What is your opinion? What do you see when you look at the image? I would love to know the real story behind the photo. I also wonder if the young man came home safe after the war.

Until next time…peace.

Nature’s Beauty in a Cemetery

I was out and about the other day. Technically, I was searching for bears. Yes, bears. There have been reports of bears in the area. In fact, one gentleman I chatted with informed me that there are actually about 40 in our county. I am going to have to do some research to verify the information.

When I was riding around, I did not come across any bears to photograph (don’t worry, I have a nice long lens to photograph a bear). However, I did discover this beautiful bee’s nest in a cemetery. I have never seen a bee’s nest attached to a cemetery stone before. I really enjoyed photographing the nest.

Nature’s beauty always fascinates me.

Until next time…peace.
