Sisters? Best Friends?

This image is from a recent estate lot. I don’t have an exact date. I am guessing the time frame is mid to late 1930s. I base this on the style of clothing and the type of photo. They look happy posing in the backyard or flower garden together. I wonder if they were dressed up to go somewhere special.

Soaking Up the Sun

I like this photo. It’s simple. A man and his dog sitting on a porch rail. I am envisioning a warm, sunny day.

I don’t have any information on this photo. After searching through the estate lot, I noticed he is in many photos with other people. I am assuming the others are family members.

Unfortunately, I do not have a date. But I am guessing the photo was taken in the 1940s.

Working the Field

As a farmer’s daughter, I cannot imagine working the fields with horses and hand tools. But I know that was the reality of farm work before tractors and other equipment were invented.

The photo shows two men clearing weeds or harvesting plants. I am not sure what they are holding. There is another gentleman in the background. He seems to be leading the team of horses.

I do not have any data on the photo.

An Airplane Project

The image was part of an estate lot. Unfortunately, the auction seller did not have any information on the photos.

In the photo, this young man is extremely proud of his plane. I am guessing, he built the plane as part of a project, maybe for Scouts. I am putting this photo around the late 40s or early 50s.

Bay City Wedding

I purchased a large box of 8×10 photos. All the images are beautiful wedding photos. This image is tucked inside a larger folder. The bottom of the top matte reads Agdanowski Studio, Bay City. Unfortunately, there’s no year on the photo. Based on the style of clothing, I would guess early 1920s.

I love the bride’s dress. I wish I could see the color of the flowers. Everyone looks so proper and fine for the wedding day. I think the bridesmaid resembles the bride. I wonder if they are sisters.

Benjestown Road-1945

This photo was part of an estate sale purchase. My favorite part of the photo is the information on the back. The photo had a location, Benjestown Road, Tennessee, and a date, 1945. I generally do not get any information on the back of a photo.

From the girl’s clothing, I am guessing, this is her first time on a horse.

Playing Outdoors

These little girls look like they are having so much fun. They are definitely dressed up. I am wondering if this wasn’t after a church service, social event, or Easter Sunday. Unfortunately, the photo does not contain any factual information.

I love how the little girl is holding her baby. She has the little doll all covered up. The two other girls are pushing her down the sidewalk. I think they are pushing her in a doll stroller. There’s actually a larger stroller in the background.

There’s also a gentleman sitting on the lawn in the background. He is probably watching them as they play.

A School Project

These photos are from an estate lot. I do not know if this was a school project or part of the curriculum. The farm display is definitely a teaching point. There are posters on the black board to go along with the exhibit.

I am assuming the photo is from the early 1950s. However I do not have any information to confirm the date or the location of the photo.

Christmas in New York

Happy Friday, everyone! Here are a few photos from a recent estate lot purchase. I do not have any names or dates with these photographs.

I personally find these pictures amusing. The photographs are definitely taken in New York City at Rockefeller Center.

I just returned from a New York trip. I was one of those crazy people who stood out in the rain to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I recognize every place these photos were taken.

The gorgeous Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. I wonder what color those bulbs were?

The Rink at Rockefeller Center. It always looks bigger in the photos. But I still enjoyed watching the people when I was there.

The beautiful St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

I am guessing these photos are from the late 1950s or early 60s. What do you think?

Have you been to NYC?

Welcome 2025!

Happy New Year! Our first day of 2025 has been cold and a little snowy here in Mid-Michigan. On my way into town this morning, I snapped some photos. Of course, I didn’t have the right lens with me. But I still managed. We had Canadian Geese down at the Maple River.

And, then I had a flock of Turkeys fly right in front of my vehicle. I am glad I was on a back road and going slow.

Thank you for following this blog. I have been busy purchasing estate lots. I cannot wait to share some of my findings with you. I just need to organize them first.

Take care!

Until next time…peace
