I love waterfalls! Well, I just love being out in nature. I have only visited waterfall in my state.
My favorite are the Tahquamenon Falls in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The last time I went, the weather was not the best. But the rain did not stop us from looking around.

Dragonflies are one of my favorite insects to photograph.
The winged little creatures remind me of fairies! Plus they eat mosquitoes, we have lots of those here in Michigan!

I actually have a lot of photos of this couple. Unfortunately, none of the images have any identifying marks.
Since they are posing out front on a porch, I am wondering if they bought a new home.
From their style of clothing and the type of image, I place this photo in the early 1940s.

I pulled these images from slides. I was surprised to find them in my recent estate sale purchase. The previous owner did a lot of traveling. Most of the slides are focused on the trips. I admit, I love seeing their adventures. And, my bucket list is getting a lot of great ideas.
But these slides were focused on the aftermath of a tornado in Clinton County, Michigan.
Each slide has handwriting on them. In pencil are the date, event, and location. The tornado took place in August 1946 in St. Johns, Michigan.
A couple of the slides had extra details like Rudy’s trailer.
The broken trees were on Clinton Ave. I found this interesting. My grandfather lived on Clinton Ave. for years.
There’s no further identifying information on the next three slides.
The sign in the rubble reads, welding. Perhaps, the name on the business sign is Gary.
A lot of people showed up to help.
The next two slides are labeled, “Aunt Nellie’s house”.
I am assuming the lady with the flowered dress is Aunt Nellie.
Tornadoes leave a path of debris and destruction. I am hoping no one was hurt in this event.
I am hoping someone out there can provide more information on this tornado. I did a little research but did not find a lot of information. If I come across my slides from this event, I will definitely post them.

These three slides were together in a small plastic bag in my recent estate lot purchase. There was a little information: January 1969–Mexico.
I am assuming the two couples traveled together to Mexico. (Probably to escape the cold weather here in Michigan).
As I mentioned before, the couples in the images traveled a lot. I am excited to see all their destinations.

I pulled this image off a slide which was part of an estate sale. If I researched correctly, I believe this is The Montreal Expo.
The slide does have a date of October 1967.

Did you celebrate Earth Day? I was happy to spend time outdoors. I cleaned up the yard a little, took some photos, and planned where to put my flower gardens.
I hope you managed to get outdoors today.

As a farmer’s daughter, I cannot imagine working the fields with horses and hand tools. But I know that was the reality of farm work before tractors and other equipment were invented.
The photo shows two men clearing weeds or harvesting plants. I am not sure what they are holding. There is another gentleman in the background. He seems to be leading the team of horses.
I do not have any data on the photo.

The photo of three women has information on the back. I love when I find photos with a little information. First the photo has a date: July 1940.
Next, the image has names: Hilda Shoberg, Rosilia Shoberg, and Ellen Shoberg Dablin. Then at the bottom of the photo reads: Rosilia & Ellen first cousins.
I wonder if the ladies were just visiting. Or if they were attending a wedding or family reunion.
