May 1961

I took this image from a slide which was labeled May 1961. The group are full of smiles. I do not have any further information.

I recently purchased the slide as part of an estate lot on an auction site.

The people in the slides loved to travel. I am so excited to pull the images off them.

The gentlemen in the photo appear to be in hunting apparel which makes me think they are at a cabin.

Happy Earth Day

Did you celebrate Earth Day? I was happy to spend time outdoors. I cleaned up the yard a little, took some photos, and planned where to put my flower gardens.

If you look closely, you can see the fish on tip of the pole. This Osprey was enjoying his meal.
The Vultures were snacking on roadkill. I got really close to them before they decided to move along. I laugh every time I see these birds. My mom loved them.

I hope you managed to get outdoors today.

Have you ever watch a Cormorant dive?

Happy Earth Day! Let’s work together for the sake of our planet.

Girls in the Snow

The image doesn’t contain any identifying marks. Two girls posing behind the piles of snow. They seem happy and enjoying the outdoors. They look a little like sisters but I think they are best friends.

From the type of the photo and the style of clothing, I am guessing, the image was taken in the 1920s.

Two Men in Front of Signs

I don’t have any information about the two men in the photo. However, I did look up the ads for more information.

I researched “Jeeps! I’d rather have a milk-nickel” which is a chocolate ice milk slogan. The ad was in place from 1934 to 1941. The dates match the style of clothing and photo type.

I wonder if the two men were part of the benefit. Or if they were just posing in front of the signs for the photographer.

A Vacation?

The image did not have any identifying marks. Based on the clothing and type of image, I am placing the photo around the late 1940s.

I think the ladies are on vacation with a grandson. On the left, there looks like a monument.

A Street Scene

Does anyone recognize the street? There are some signs. But I cannot identify the area.

If you look to the right of the image, a sign hangs above a door with the words: John F. McCarthy Real Estate Insurance. I did a quick search but did not find a perfect match for location.

On the left side of the image, there are advertising signs for appliances, luggage, china, cutlery, etc. I am assuming this was a variety store.

Sisters? Best Friends?

This image is from a recent estate lot. I don’t have an exact date. I am guessing the time frame is mid to late 1930s. I base this on the style of clothing and the type of photo. They look happy posing in the backyard or flower garden together. I wonder if they were dressed up to go somewhere special.

Coming Home

I do not have any data on these images. I would like to believe this gentleman was coming home after serving his time in the service.

Or perhaps, he is home on leave to see his newborn baby. I have no way of knowing the real situation.

I put this photo around the late 1940s.
