Juvenile Bald Eagle

I photographed this majestic bird the other day. He (I think) was down at the Maple River (mid-Michigan area). I bet I took over 400 pictures of him. Yes, I was far away. I used my long lens. I didn’t want to disturb him too much. Even though, I know he could see me.

Based on his feather pattern, I believe, he is about 1 1/2 years old. He was a spectacular sight. I hope I see him in the area again.

Have a great day!

1950s Family Reunion Playing Horseshoes in the Park

This image was from an estate lot. In my opinion, they are playing horseshoes. I imagine this is a family gathering or perhaps a reunion in a park.

I am guessing the image is from the early 1950s. I base this on the type of image and the style of clothing.

The person sitting on the log is either watching the game closely or bored.

What do you think?

Just Peeking

I took a backroad home from town. I was driving slowly. I knew I had seen something in the ditch. So, I stopped my car to look. My dad was with me. We kept searching but didn’t see anything at first.

Then, this crane’s head popped up just above the ditch line. I think he was telling me, “Yes, you saw me, now go on your way.” He did not seemed bothered by our presence. Other than the fact, that we were disturbing his food search.

Exploring Old Slides: Hawaii

The photo is a digital copy of an old slide. I purchased a large lot through an auction. I have slowly been going through them.

This slide did not have any information. However, some of the other slides mention Hawaii. I am assuming this photo was taken there. What do you think?

Do you think it looks like Hawaii? Let me know in the comments.

Turkey Vulture

Did you have a fun-filled Labor Day weekend? I stuck close to home. I worked on photos, writing, and housework. I know, an odd combination.

I did go for a ride. I came across these beautiful Turkey Vultures. The one kept opening his (or her) wings. I believe the bird was trying to soak up the sun.

I am fascinated with these birds. My mom use to love them. She said, they were so ugly, they were beautiful. Of course, I find everything in nature has a touch of beauty.

Well, have a good night.

Until next time…peace

A Happy Group

Happy September 1st everyone! Where did our summer go?

I am still working on the slides I purchased from an auction. I really like this slide. Everyone seems to be happy. I wonder if they were traveling together. Or perhaps, one couple was traveling to meet up with the others. I just wish I had names for the people in the image.

Have a great month!

Until next time…peace
